Our Vision

Founded in 2013, our vision was to develop a new ground-breaking automation platform that would help organizations overcome the challenges of workforce productivity, skills availability, and digitization of service offerings.

We recognized that whilst there were many automation technologies in the market, these were not effectively addressing that challenge. Typically focused on the niche automation of a specific task or function, or on re-engineering the processes and systems in use, these often required lengthy, disruptive, and expensive change programs, and were rarely simple to deploy, easy to adopt or flexible to consume.

It became clear that directly focusing on the automation of the workers provided the single largest opportunity for improving business efficiency, and in a world where human resources are often both the largest investment and biggest constraint for any business, allowing automation to work non-disruptively alongside or in place of that workforce could provide a rapid and significant route to value.

The outcome of our vision was the creation of the Virtual Workforce; a flexible, secure, on-demand enterprise class platform onto which clients build their own business processes as digital workflows to be executed as required.

Approach

We saw that alongside the inherent inefficiency in people based processes, the organizational structure of most businesses created further inefficiency. With skilled resources organized in departmental, team or functional silos, companies had to recruit or develop specialist skills for each department to meet peaks in demand. And with skills rarely transferrable between teams, this created an additional layer of inefficiency and overcapacity that directly impacted workforce productivity.

We identified that traditional approaches to deploying automation often focused on the same departmental or functional view – and thus ran the risk of replicating the same inefficiencies.

Our intelligent automation platform, Thoughtonomy Virtual Workforce ®, was designed to provide a flexible pool of digital labor which breaks the association between work, the resource required to deliver it, and the method of triggering, initiating or interacting with any given process.

By creating a pool of shared resources which can perform work across any business function, and can scale up and down on demand to align exactly with the type and amount of work required, we enable companies to make a step change in productivity that has not previously been available without significant investment, risk, and disruption to their business, and to treat automation as a journey of continuous improvement, not as a one-time technology deployment.
